Minicomic #3 coming soon!

Proof that it’s on the way, here’s the WIP for the cover for our third Imaginary Gumbo comic!

After the lovely review from the Forbidden Planet blog I really wanted to show that we have a new one coming along very soon, so here is an early peek at how page one has turned out after colouring. Plus it’s a longer story! With these minis I’m trying to push my drawing a bit more each time and so far I’m very pleased with how story three is shaping up visually.

We have been a bit quiet since Thought Bubble, but we’ve got a new Imaginary Gumbo minicomic roughed out and I’m just working on the final lineart. With the new year we’ll have a lot more popping up on here and our website, more Gumbo stuff, more Lil Rollers, more everything!

Here’s a little Charlie for you for now, revealing that she has a little hat in the new short story. SPOILERS!

New Gumbo pic for Halloween! Everyone thinks it’s Charlies mum with a modified Darth Vader voice changer helmet on.

WIP: Imaginary Gumbo Halloween illustration. I’m trying to fight my urge to clean my inks all the time, scribbly is good! I think the more I clean them up, the more life gets lost in the characters. I had a very neat version of Charlie here but it looked so bland that I went back to my initial scribbling layer and just took out some construction lines. So she’s got this wonky grin and scruffy hair that I really like.

Gumbo is pretty sure you’re not supposed to get this many sweets for trick-or-treating.

Gumbo gets all sad about his ice cream. Then Charlie pats him on the hand and buys him a balloon instead.

She gets him one shaped like a piggy.
